FAQ
How do I brew pu-erh tea?
Rinse the leaves briefly with hot water and discard the rinse — this wakes the leaves and clears any dust from aging. Then steep in short, repeated infusions (10–20 seconds each) rather than one long steep. Good pu-erh can be steeped 5–10+ times, with the flavor shifting each round.
What's the difference between sheng and shu pu-erh?
Sheng (raw) pu-erh is unfermented and ages over years, developing complexity slowly — it starts bright and sharp and mellows over time. Shu (ripe) pu-erh is fermented quickly through a controlled process, giving it a smooth, earthy character right away. Neither is "better" — they're different experiences.
How should I store my tea?
Keep it away from direct light, strong odors, and humidity. A sealed container in a cool, dry cupboard works well. Aged pu-erh cakes benefit from some airflow, so avoid vacuum-sealing them long-term.
Do you offer samples before I commit to a full cake?
